Upcycled Furniture

Upcycling furniture and resorting anything from fitments to mechanical devices has always offered me an almost therapeutic benefit. It’s more a hobby than work. When finding something that needs to be cleaned, stripped or polished I can lose myself for hours. Sometimes I will rush to work, slightly excited to see what’s underneath all those years of use, layers of paint, crud or varnish. History unfolds revealing a unique story behind each piece. Seeing something that has quite possibly been rendered useless or disregarded brought back to life and re-purposed is very rewarding. My aim over the next few years is to incorporate more of this into my creative designs. In an age where sustainability in work practice is necessary to ease the pressures of the environmental issues that affect us all, it’s important for me to assist where possible.
