This stunning Table has features that cannot ever be recreated. Visible from the legs alone, time and nature have really had a hand in creating this piece of art. In some respects nature was the architect and I was the assembler. Having said this, these Oak Beams having laid in the elements for over twenty required over 120hrs of sanding and fine Joinery to achieve the incredible results displayed. Construction methods are traditional mortise and tenon joints, coupled with hand made square steel nuts, for ease of disassembly. Steam bent oak laminated arches. Applied Bees wax melted into the creases allows for a wonderful natural luster on the old Oak. 10mm toughened glass to crown the build allows total visibility to the beauty bellow.

Timber generally is a live organic medium. In short it can be unpredictable. After a lifetime of avoiding splits, cracks and knots in my work, I now delight in their beauty and characteristics. Likewise please accept that this piece may change in various ways overtime. Ultimately however it is, by design, not built to be perfect. It is it’s imperfections that make it to both you the consumer, and me, it’s creator – Perfect!
